Zypher nodded to the she and turned back to Shadow, "I would have to agree with you." he said and walked toward the she, "Hello back, what is your name?" Zypher asked, trying to sound somewhat polite.

"Well, I was hoping you would be smart with that." P.J. gave Colby a small smirk, then grimaced because her statement wasn't meant to be entirely a joke. She didn't know how to answer his question correctly for sure. She shrugged and sighed, shaking out her fur. She just wanted to get to the bottom of this. But, she had a feeling that that might take a while. "We're just going to have to pick them out and decide for ourselves." She said. "I met a Silken Windhound not too long ago. If I'm able to pick up her scent from where we were last night, I should be able to find her if we move quick enough." She suggested carefully. "It might take a little while, but I'm sure we can trust her..." She looked toward the Great Dane. "Are you up for it?

Cambia snorted and eyed the two with sly eyes. "They called me Autumn's Lilac. You can call me Cambia." Her voice, and her real name, seemed to ring and echo against the buildings.

Shadow eyed both Zypher, and now Cambia. He wasn't sure what do do next. This was uncharted territory for him. Not just one, but two dogs have now started talking to him. The pits had never trained him for this. The urge to kill, was still strong, but he was sure that, that was the wrong reaction to this situation. Still, what do do?
Looking to Camibia, he eyed her wounds, not to deep, but they will need to be cleaned, there were no humans around in case infection set in to help. "You should let the water from the eves of the building clean out the wounds. Smells clean, and will help get the dirt and trash out of them."
Was that the right thing to say he wondered. In any advent it was sound advise, infection could kill or make her weak enough to be killed.

Cambia again snorted "It is not too bad." She said, but went to stand under the dripping water from the roof anyways. She did not like being told what to do, even though what Shadow said was just a suggestion.

Colby didn't take P.J.'s comment as a joke. He nodded seriously. Smart. Could he be smart? He'd made a smart decision to trust P.J., anyway, so that was something. It helped boost his confidence a little. He'd been smart once, he could be smart again. Besides, there was P.J. to help him now. He didn't have to make every decision on his own. "A...Silken Windhound?" he repeated, unfamiliar with the breed. "Sure, let's go. Uh...I don't know where I'm going, so you lead." He smiled and waited to fall into step behind her, happy to have a plan. If they had a plan, then they weren't wandering aimlessly. And if they weren't wandering aimlessly, then they weren't totally lost.

Having explored the city a little more after she had finished her rescue mission, Cue decided to find something to eat, as she felt her stomach growl. As if her thin stature didn't make her look weak enough, she looked pathetic. Her fur was tangled and her white fur was blackened. Now she was hungry and still had a lack of sleep. Her mind began to feel foggy. She shook her head. Weakness meant death. To wake herself up more, she sprinted at full speed down the street, tongue hanging out of her mouth in a smile. She spotted a squirrel in a bush not far away, and tried to push herself past her top speed, and it felt like it worked. She was running faster than she ever had before, being kept by an elderly couple. She knew it was a squirrel, and there was little to no chance she would catch it, but that made no difference. She tackled the bush, hearing some kind of hissing chattering noise within it, and felt something brush past her hind foot. She quickly jumped out of the bush and gave it chase back down the street, the furry creature dodging left and right as she had seen them do when a car was approaching them on the road, as if they couldn't make up their mind which way to go. She pounced, leaping through the air and tumbling on top of it. She was amazed at how she had managed to outsmart, or rather outrun, the small animal. She knew it was finished; it couldn't have possibly survived her weight on top of it. Her eyes stung and she panted heavily. She grinned to herself at how insane she probably looked to other dogs. She picked up the squirrel in her mouth and hurried off to a back alley with the prize being held high in the air, as she let off a low warning growl all the way there. She wouldn't have someone taking her food away, although if one had tried, they would have succeeded. She was all bark and no bite. She began to tear into the meat, a mischievous, satisfied grin on her face. Perhaps this wouldn't be so hard.

{Ipod} P.J. looked at Colby, shrugged and stepped in front of him, then slid to the side so that they could trot side by side if he wanted. Though she doubted it would be easy to 'trot' along side with a dog only half his side with so much smaller feet, she didn't bither to mention it. She continued on in silence, scenting her way back to the alley where she had met Cue. It was a little while later, but they finally go there. P.J. trotted down the alley and sniffed around the dumster to check if Cue was still there. Having no success, she turned to Colby. "Yeah, she isn't here anymore." She announced, trotting back to the front of the alley. "We're just going to have to follow her scent." She told him, and caught the only vaguely familiar silken windhound's scent and trotted after it, nose in the air.

Colby followed P.J., attempting to shorten his natural stride and take smaller steps after noticing how she was forced to take so many for every one of his. They reached the alley P.J. said was the place she'd last left the Windhound. He watched her sniff around the dumpster, but the alley was clearly empty. This might have been where she was, but she wasn't anymore. He waited for the red merled Aussie to pick up her friend's scent, then leaned down to sniff for himself. He actually detected the scent of several dogs leading in and out of the alley, P.J.'s among them, and wasn't quite sure which one was the one he was supposed to be tracking. But as P.J. led the way, one scent gradually split away from the others and Colby was able to file it away for future reference. At some point, the Windhound's scent merged with that of a rodent; squirrel, heavily overlaid with terror. Soon after, he spotted a small red stain on the pavement, and assumed that signalled the end of the little creature's life. He lifted his nose in the air and swung his head around, inhaling deeply. She was close now -this kill was fresh and her scent was strong. "This way!" he told P.J., loping off down a nearby alley. Their quarry was tearing into her squirrel, a triumphant grin splitting her muzzle. Colby skidded to a halt, staring curiously at the dog he'd been helping P.J. track for the last hour or so. It was a slender, black and white, long-haired dog, maybe a few inches taller than P.J. Then he realized he probably should've waited for P.J., since he had absolutely no idea what to say.

Cue sprang to her feet, tossing the last half of her squirrel over her shoulder, putting herself between the huge, rather intimidating, dog that stood over her. She lowered herself to the ground defensively and sidestepped a few step away from him, and away from the squirrel. Just a bully who wants my food, she mentally told herself with a sigh. However, she paused, realizing there was another scent as well as his, that she recognized to be P.J. and the brindle Great Dane looked dazed, not at all like the other rabid dogs fighting on the streets. She cast him a curious look. “Need something?†She asked softly, still remaining defensive, though clearly not posing any threat.

(More symbols, Ice O.o What's up with that?)
"Uhhhh...." Colby glanced over his shoulder, really wishing he hadn't gotten so far ahead of P.J. "Um..." He took in the smaller dog's position, crouched defensively, a wary look lighting her eyes as she regarded him, and stepped back. He lowered his head, trying to make himself look smaller. Why'd he have to be such a giant? "I'm not...not trying to, uh, steal your food or anything," he said quickly, tripping over his tongue in his haste to reassure her. "We were looking for you, that is, me and P.J. were...uh..." He stopped, reddening in embarrassment. "Sheesh, I'm making a muck of this. P.J. can explain better..."

(Huh, I don't know. That time I had posted it on my computer. I'll look into that if it starts happening to anyone else.)
Cue smiled, muscles visibly losing some of their rigidness as she stood up straighter. The large Great Dane couldn't have given a better answer if he had tried. It showed that perhaps he didn't feel as big as he was, which she admired. He also didn't seem too sure of himself. Mentioning P.J. at the end only made it more convincing that his intentions were kind, though she didn't completely forget the idea of being attacked as she kept him in the corner of her eye. She glanced at the squirrel and sighed. It didn't look very appetizing, as it had splashed into a puddle of water on the asphalt and was now floating there, face down. She turned back to the dog who claimed to be with P.J. "Cue." She introduced herself simply. "And you are?"

Colby noted the Windhound's smile, and relaxed slightly himself. He wasn't sure exactly what it was he'd said that had convinced her, but whatever, it worked. At least she wasn't looking at him like she was planning how to take him apart piece by piece anymore. That really unnerved him. "I'm Colby," he replied, offering a tentative smile of his own. He glanced over his shoulder again, hoping P.J. had caught up with him. No such luck. "Uh, P.J. should be along any minute now...she'd mentioned meeting you and, um, well, actually, I don't remember why she thought we should come find you..." He smiled weakly, feeling incredibly foolish.

"Wait, Colby!" P.J. tried to stop him but failed miserably as he chased after the blood trail that they had spotted. His legs were way to long for her to keep up with. She sighed and broke into a fast run, tracking the blood trailas well as Cue and Colby's scent. She finally spotted them after a few minutes and sighed in relief. She padded up next to Colby, watching Cur, but not before she casted a sort of good humored glare in Colby's direction. "Thank you so much for waiting for me, Colby." She mutter drily, full of sarcasm then she turned to Cue again. "Colby, Cue, Cue, Colby. You probably already introduced yourselves thiugh, being that Colby had to race way ahead of me, find you, and not even come back to see if I was even coming!" She sighed, sarcasm practically dripping from her teeth. She hadn't realized that they actually hadnt been talking that long. "Anyway, Cue we need your help." Edit: always forget the coding for italics on here.

Cue nodded towards Colby, mentally noting his name. She gave a weak, friendly smile as he said he didn't actually know the reason they had sought her out. She was surprised as P.J. came in sight, sarcastically scolding Colby for not waiting for her. Curious, that P.J.'s the one in charge with the two of them. Then as P.J. said they needed her, Cue cast the pair a curious glance. "You need my help?" She asked as if she hadn't heard them correctly. "And why exactly would you need me?"

"Uhh.." P.J. tried to figure out how to word this. All the things that had happened in the past few days were weird. They were hard to talk about because so many questions were unanswered. She glanced toward Colby, hoping for him to speak up, but realized just then that she was the one who had spoken and she needed to finish this. She looked toward Cue now. "Well, you know with theses strange things happening and all..." She mentally slapped herself. Idiot. "We need your help because Colby and I decided it would be best if we want so see if we can solve this, then we need to all work together. We can't go around killing our kind and surviving alone. We'll have a better chance if we team up. But, we need to be careful with who we choose to trust." She explained.

Colby couldn't help the look of immense relief that flooded his features as P.J. appeared at the mouth of the alley. He tucked his tail and grinned sheepishly as she scolded him for not waiting for her. "Sorry," he murmured. He turned back to Cue as P.J. picked up where he'd left tragically off, filling the Windhound in on their plan, which vaguely came back to him as P.J. re-explained it. Oh, yeah! Figure out where the humans went, team up, trust...right, right. Why couldn't I remember any of that? P.J. finished her short speech outlining their plan and Colby nodded enthusiastically, now that he felt like he knew what was going on again. He glanced at Cue for her response, sinking to his haunches and cocking his head slightly.

Cue remained still while P.J. tried to explain what they wanted, stammering at first, then remembering what she was going to say. By the look on Colby's face, she guessed the Great Dane had remembered as well. She stifled a laugh at the pair. Something gave her the queer feeling that this couldn't be solved at all, and wasn't as simple as finding the humans again. However it was obvious they needed to find or form a pack, or they would die. That was fact. But how much better would three dogs do as opposed to one, when the packs they were going up against were 20-strong, with stray dogs who had been used to fending for themselves their entire lives? She visibly paused, debating with herself, weighing pros and cons. So they would have a huge male who carried himself as though he was afraid of his own shadow and was under the leash of the spunky Aussie, asking the quiet, sweet Cue if they could team up. What a merry band of misfits they would make. A small smirk tugged at her lips. "I suppose if you think it's necessary. As long as you're sure this big lump is safe." She joked, reaching over to poke his shoulder with her nose, looking him up and down. She was sure to make eye contact with him and offer him a friendly smile of trust. She took in a big breath. "Even with a small pack, we're not safe here. We've got to get out of the city - go off into the woods and move from there," she suggested quietly, looking between their faces for responses.

P.J. smiled at Cue's answer, glad that the Windhound was cooperative. She had expected she would be; and hoped that Colby didn't come off as intimidating to her. The big guy was just a jolly thing that needed answers...like everyone else. She smirked at Cue's joke about Colby and nodded slowly. "Actually...now that you mention it..." She laughed and nudged his shoulder as well. "Just teasing you." She looked back toward Cue and nodded again, her ears flopping. She stretched ou her back leg and sat to scratch her ear as she agreed woth Cue. "Yep. That's what I was thinking." She paused. "But first...Can we like..raid a hot dog stand or something? I am starving."

Colby's ears fell and his tail slowed in its good-natured wag as both girls turned to him, questioning how safe he was. His gentle brown eyes registered hurt. "Hey..." he protested, until they both nudged him and he realized they'd been teasing him. He grinned and his tail picked up its pace once more. Out of the city? he thought. It sounded to him like that might be more dangerous than staying here, even with all the packs ruling the streets now. Maybe they wouldn' be that bad...they hadn't bothered him, had they? But P.J. was agreeing with Cue, so Colby held his tongue. Hey, maybe they knew better than him. How would he know? Just then, his stomach rumbled, punctuating P.J.'s statement. He jumped, startled, then glanced down and grinned sheepishly. "Uh, my stomach seconds that motion," he chimed in.
