"Handsome, right," Zakira grinned back. "You know me better than that. I would never choose a male for his looks. Fortunately for you." She licked him back, then stood up. "I'm hungry again and we have leftover goose in the den still." She started for their cave, smiling to herself. Before she'd met Nomed, the thought of taking a mate had never crossed her mind. No Avenger had ever done so; she wouldn't have either, if that avalanche hadn't wiped her pack out and drove her out of the mountains. And even after, no average pack wolf would ever have caught her eye. In every way, she and Nomed were meant for each other. They understood each other in ways no other wolf could even begin to relate to.
"Foxgloves," Joshua repeated, inordinately pleased that her flowers from Kavik had such a pretty name. Brigan chuckled. "I'm flattered," he replied. "Joshua and I were just going to the stream. She's nearly as obsessed with it as she is with your son. I have no idea why. Would you like to join us?"
Callyn was sitting outside the den, watching for Traxx's return. She didn't really believe the young wolf's shoulder was healed enough yet for all the running around she was doing. She gave a small sigh as Traxx returned, then cocked her head curiously at the friend she brought along. He was a big, light tan male with dark stripes, indigo eyes, and nice manners. "Hello, Barak," she replied with a smile, then laughed. "I don't bite -I may threaten sometimes, but it's usually all bluff. So as long as you're a good boy and don't bother my puppies, we can be friends." Her blue and grey eyes twinkled good-humoredly.

Nomed chuckled and stood smoothly, following her alongside her flank. "Well, I'm glad that you continue to knock my self-confidence back into place," he laughed and shook his head. "I got tired of it. thank you for putting it back down, baby." He nipped her haunch and padded after her into the den. He sat down by the goose and stretched out, settling onto his belly. He watched her gently, head cocked, a light smile on his lips.
Barak chuckled and nodded. "I won't bother your pups," he replied with a smile. "That shouldn't be a problem, for anyone." He sat down and wrapped his tail around himself. "They may bother me, but I won't hurt them." He laughed lightly.

Zakira smirked at him and pulled the goose toward her. "It doesn't hurt you to be taken down a notch or two every now and then," she told him. "You'd be insufferable otherwise." She ate a couple bites, but felt full sooner than she expected. This pregnancy toyed terribly with her appetite. It would come and go like the receding waves on a shoreline. Frankly, it was pretty aggravating. She sighed and shoved the bird away. "Hungry, Nomed?"
"Oh, good," Callyn grinned. "I shouldn't have anything to worry about then. And you actually shouldn't either, come to think of it. My pups are half grown; they aren't likely to bother you." The white she-wolf cocked her head, curious about something Barak had said before. "You said Traxx was the first wolf you met who didn't hate you? That surprises me; who else have you run into? Our pack is typically pretty friendly...though admittedly, we've been a little cautious since losing our Alphas."

Nomed chuckled again, sighing wearily. "Oh, my poor ego is taking a serious bashing," he moaned good-naturedly. He smiled and pulled the goose closer to him when she pushed it away. "Always, are you kidding me?? My food goes to my toes." He laughed again and started eating, however neatly so as to be able to hold a conversation. She made him smile, that was for sure; he'd smiled more in their time as mates than he had his whole life. But if he hadn't had his life before, he wouldn't have her to make it better now.
Barak shrugged with a wry smile. "An amber she-wolf named Odeta, I'm guessing she's new since she was introduced when I met her," he explained. "And a massive male and female couple, Traxx told me they were Nomed and Zakira, right??" He glanced at her for agreement. "I saw him acting like a pup with an actual pup and watched him, but then they both noticed me and I think she wants to kill me because I may or may not have antagonized her justalittlebit by winking at her when she looked at me." He shrugged lazily. "Oh well."

Zakira smiled, trying not to envy her mate his healthy appetite as he tucked into the rest of the goose. Her mind turned to the little ones growing in her belly; she'd felt them stirring inside her for the first time today. It had really struck her, like it hadn't been real till that moment. She touched her nose to her stomach and smiled again. "I felt them today," she said, glancing up at Nomed. "The puppies." As she relived the memory, a troubled look entered her grey eyes. "I think I frightened them."
Callyn's ears flicked backwards and she frowned. "I don't know of any amber she', but those other two are bad news. You never know where you stand with them. They share the territory with us, but they won't join the pack. They ticked me off the one day I talked to them. Nomed was very arrogant, mocking, and his mate just stood there with an odd, silent smirk." Her frown deepened. "I don't know whose pup he was with, but I hope its mother was watching closely." But after another moment, the creases in her forehead disappeared and she smiled sheepishly. "Then again, my first impression of Nomed and Zakira may be a little flawed; they woke me from my nap, so I wasn't in the best of moods. I may have been just a little antagonizing, as well." She threw back her head and laughed, imagining the look on the both Nomed and Zakira's faces at Barak's wink. "Ha! Oh, I would've loved to see that! You and me, Barak, we'll be top of their hit list, eh?" Callyn laughed again, till tears came.

Skye shook her head. "Huh? Oh... I'm sorry. You know me. I can't stop worrying. It's nothing." She said, returning from her short trip down memory lane. "Don't throw me a pity party... I'll be fine." She laughed, shoving her shoulder into his lightly. "We'll stop for the night and continue tomorrow then, right?" She asked with a small smile. "Whatever you say." I don't even know where that came from. Totally random, Skye, way to kill the mood.

Sol-Leks smiled, "Yes we would love to join you two." she said and Kavik ran over and head butted Brigan playfully. "How have you been Joshua?" Sol-Leks asked.
Traxx sat and scratched her ears. When she finished she stood back up and walked over to the den and nosed inside. She turned back toward Callyn, "Have they behaved for you?" she asked.

Nomed made a strange sound in the back of his throat around the goose, trying not to spew meat across the den. He glanced at her out of the top of his eyes, licking his lips as he finished chewing. "Really??" he asked, his excitement apparent in his dark green eyes. "That's awesome." He bit back a laugh at her next words. "You, scare them?? Nah. They've got my blood in them, they won't be scared of nothing." He gave a slightly wicked grin. "Except for us when they don't behave."
Barak frowned at her words, brow furrowing. The pair seemed like a dark couple, one to certainly be wary of. They appeared to be a danger to those who bothered them, so to get on their good side would be a good idea. He thought for a while on that subject, almost missing Callyn's next words. He too laughed aloud, adding a little sarcastic snort as well. "I dunno, I think we can take them," he chuckled, his tone contradicting his words. He knew that in a fight, even eight months pregnant, the she-wolf Zakira could definitely kick his tail in, and the male could with blindfolded. He wasn't a fighter, never really was, but he could hold his own against a normal wolf. Those two were beyond powerful, and bloodthirsty.

"And so I have!" Murtagh laughed and let his eyes wander around the clewring of wolves. "So, who now, my lovely?" He asked her, flicking his tail at her and prancing a few feet away, eyes glinting playfully. "C'mon lets find somebody…" He looked around anxiously.

Traxx limped back towards Barak, hoping she didn't trip. "Have you seen much of the territory Barak?" she asked.

Raiya looked around and shrugged. "I dont know." She said. She batted at him playfully as he pranced away.

Traxx wondered about this male. All the other males she'd met had either left or tried to hurt her. "I can't show you much, but I can go exploring with you." she suggested, hoping she wasn't over stepping any bounds.

Barak nodded, smiling. "I'd like that," he said. "Its not fun to explore alone. Especially in unknown territory." He stood and nodded respectfully to Callyn. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Callyn." He smiled lightly and touched Traxx's shoulder with his tail. "Ready??"

Traxx nodded and turned to Callyn, "We will be back soon." She turned back to Barak, "Ready." she said and started off down the path. "I'm not to sure where to go, so how about I follow you and see where we end up." she giggled.

Barak nodded and smiled. "Sure, if you think that's wise," he chuckled, taking the lead by a pawstep and looking around. "I have no idea where to wander, however, so if I start heading towards a bad place, warn me, will you??"

"Okay." Traxx said and lead on him sightly. More for support, as her shoulder still hurt.

Barak noticed her weight and glance at the paw she seemed to be limping on. He would remember that through tight spaces and for speed. Taking her weight easily, he trudged on slightly slower, keeping a calm, easy pace beside her. He wrapped his tail around hers to help support her through their wandering walk. Ears pricked and nostrils flaring, he scented the air around him and her carefully, keeping an intent watch for any danger lurking in the shadows. He wouldn't say he was afraid of an attack, more wary and willing to do anything to prevent one. After many steps of silence, he could finally no longer take it. "So, Traxx, tell me something about yourself. Anything at all. We can play a little game, you say something, then I say something. How's that sound??" He wanted to get to know his new friend; he hadn't been around wolves in ages and needed some socialization to remind him of how to act.

"Okay, well... I'm awesome at getting into stuff. I've been sprayed by a skunk because I pulled it out from under a bush. Worst way ever to learn about skunks." she said as she giggled, "Nico had me rolling fish and I rolled myself in pine needles. It wasn't pleasant."

Barak laughed lightly, flicking his ears about. "You rolled on fish to get rid of skunk??" he asked with another laugh. "I'm not sure that would help at all." He chuckled to himself for a bit longer, then said his piece. "I was the second oldest of four, and the oldest boy."
