Tratto sighed as his family became silent and he trotted out of his parent's den, deciding to explore once again, but solo this time. He was nearly full grown, a huge male wolf by the standards. His paws hit the ground silently as he traveled forward, his noes low to the ground. He had traveled quiet a ways before he came upon a clearing. There was a small family up ahead and a couple closer to him. His tail wagged back and forth furiously for a moment, then he gained a cool composure, and approached the two. (Murtagh and Raiya)

A wide smile broke out over Joshua’s little face. She yipped and leapt up to lick her mother’s jaw, but quickly dropped back to her feet as Ana brought her muzzle down to her level, licking her and nuzzling her ears. She snuggled up close to Ana’s chest. “Mama! You came back!”
Brigan’s smile faltered at his daughter’s still-blank expression. In all his dreams of finally getting his missing mate and daughter returned to him, it had never occurred to him that Sawyer might not remember him. Then she grinned suddenly and jumped up to cover his face in wet puppy kisses. He breathed out deeply as a tight band around his heart seemed to break and fall away. He grinned back at her, not even trying to correct her view of who left whom. “Never,” he promised, drawing his tongue down her back in long soothing strokes, like he’d done to Joshua so many times after Ana and Sawyer had disappeared.
Zakira took the time between her astonished outburst and Harek’s slight hesitation to regroup. She wiped the stunned expression from her face, burying it carefully beneath layers of calm passivity, though her thoughts were whirling through her mind like a mental hurricane. What were the odds? The day after she finally gets fed up and walks and Nomed’s sister comes for a visit. She looked the white she’ up and down again, with more curiosity now that she knew who she was. She didn’t know what she would’ve expected of Nomed’s sister, but Harek certainly wasn’t it; she couldn’t have been more his opposite. Zakira actually couldn’t believe that the other female still didn’t get it. She had no patience for going rounds with wolves who were slow on the uptake. Not that she really wanted to talk about her recent break-up with her ex’s sister…she was still avoiding that topic in her own head. “I’m Zakira,” she replied in her calm, quiet accent, knowing full well Harek hadn’t ‘missed’ her name because she hadn’t given it. There was the briefest of hesitations. “I was Nomed’s mate.”

Ipa followed her brother out, but turned a different direction once she got far enough. She walked through the forest, enjoying the crisp air blowing through her fur.

At the brown wolf, Zakira's, words, Harek froze in place. She stared at the she-wolf before her, face expressionless. Standing, she paced slowly around the other wolf, eyes dark, showing nothing. Not contempt, not anger, no emotion whatsoever. After completing a circle, than another, she sat before Zakira, back ramrod straight, sitting much like Nomed had not that long ago. She stared at her silently. "Well then," she said finally, voice no longer kind and soft but hard and flinty. There was nothing in her stance or voide that lead to a memory of the friendly wolf she had been. Her eyes were two dark pools of nothingness. "I would say it is nice to meet you, Zakira, but alas I don't believe it is. Perhaps if it were under different terms . . ." She shrugged nonchalantly, but there was something almost menacing in the movement. "I do hope you realize, however, that you broke my brother." She stood once more, lifting her head high and proud to gaze down at her darkly. "You literally broke him. He won't even talk to me anymore, just lays under the bush and sleeps." Her now-dark eyes narrowed. "You're lucky. Not only do you carry his pups, but he still loves you with every fiber of his moral being, for some reason unbeknownst to me." She shrugged once more, this time with more contempt. "So instead, I'll say congratulations for now and not do what I wish I could to you. I hope you're happy, Zakira." With that, she turned away in a flurry, her plumy white tail almost hitting Zakira across the face, but she wasn't pupish. No, not even she a fury would stoop to that level, so she pulled her tail up just in time. She stalked away, hackles bristling, lips curled back, eyes sharp and dark. She let out a low growl and turned, showing the full front of her face to Zakira one last time. "He's the only family I have left, so stay away from him unless you're willing to come down off your high horse and accept that someone cares enough about you that they want you to he safe, whether you can protect yourself or not." Saying those final words, Harek disappeared into the shadows, forsaking the moss and determining she just had to get him to haul his sorry butt out here if he was thirsty. Obviously, she had moved on, so he needed to too. (Don't worry about Har, Co, she's just a hormonal grumpy puss. ^.^')

(Lol, not worrying. It's not like Zakira's feelings are going to be hurt ) It was after Zakira revealed her identity to Harek that she began to see the similiarities in the siblings. In their anger. Straight back, hard voice, cold eyes. And the way they had both circled her, as if in judgement and she the judged. She let Harek speak. Each harsh, pummeling word beat on her like a wave against an unmoving rock in the sea. Some things said, she utterly disregarded as untrue, embellished, or misunderstood. Others struck her deep inside and what didn't make her think, made her angry. Angry enough to want to silence the white wolf's mouth forever. But she wouldn't do that because it was Harek. She wouldn't kill Nomed's sister. Zakira heard everything Harek had to say without interrupting or saying a word in her defense, though there was a lot she may have said had the white she' stayed around to listen. She thinks I'm happy?? The incredulous thought flitted through her mind as she turned and trotted away in the opposite direction. Whatever she thinks, she needn't worry that I'll come creeping around to bother Nomed. Right now, 'far away' isn't far enough.

(Sorry I havent been on lately everyone... I also cant remeber were my characters were so, I will just play them from random places...)
Sol-Leks and Kavik where at the stream, near to the den and Kavik let out a laugh watching his mother try to fish. He finally jumped in to help and together they caught a few. "Not your day?" he asked with a laugh as they walked back to the den. "I guess not." she said and flopped down at the mouth of the den.
Traxx finally made her way home and curled up into a ball.

(Its fine. =) Barak and Traxx had been talking to Sol-Lels, trying to establish why she hated her daughter so much, but this works too.) The beige male trotted down towards the stream, thirsty. He bowed his head to lap at the water, ears flicking lazily to show boredom. He snorted into the river, sending bubbles up, and chuckled before padding on. He was hungry, again, so he opted to see if he could find some prey. Trotting along, muscles along his back bulging slightly, he lifted his head high and searched for something small, one-wolf only prey. Finally seeking a rabbit, he lunged out of a bush and snapped its neck up in his powerful jaws before crouching down to eat it.

Zakira had intended to go hunting earlier this morning before she'd run into Harek. She still needed to eat, so she temporarily cleared her mind of any and all distracting thoughts, lifted her nose, and inhaled the morning's scents. None smelled particularly appetizing. Rabbit. Squirrel. Grouse. Then another scent drifted to her and her ears pricked. That had potential. It had a little more bite to it than the other bland prey she'd identified. Zakira tracked the little animal down and when it came into sight, she dropped into a crouch. The weasel paused and sat up, its beady eyes darting around as if it could feel her predator's gaze on it. After a moment, it sank back to all fours. Zakira didn't hesitate. She lunged, a growl ripping from her throat. Her heavy belly weighed her down, made her slower than usual, but she'd expected and compensated for that. The weasel twisted faster than she thought possible, snarling up into her face. Its needle-like claws raked down the inside of her front leg and it sank its teeth into her cheek as she reached for its neck. Zakira snarled at the stinging pain, but was secretly glad of the little fight it put up. She shook her head sharply and flung the weasel in the air, dislodging it from her cheek. It landed with a surprised squeak; she was waiting for it. She swiftly snapped its neck and ended its life. The black-masked she-wolf bit into the weasel's throat and drank respectfully from the little fountain of blood that sprang forth. The little animal had earned not only her dutiful gratitude for its sacrifice, but also a touch of admiration for its success in marking her with its teeth and claws. Then she lay down and pulled the body between her forepaws to eat. As she ate, the words of Harek's tirade came back to her. One particular thing she'd said Zakira hadn't wanted to think too deeply about at that very moment, and had set aside for later examination. She pulled it out now. He still loves me. Some part of Zakira had vaguely assumed that once they were 'done', so were the feelings. As if the emotions were connected specifically with the state of being mated. But that's not right, she realized now. I felt for Nomed, and vice versa, before we were mates. Of course I did, or I'd never have accepted him when he asked me. So there was a core emotion before and there was still a core emotion after, despite what had happened in between. Zakira couldn't have known that; she'd turned her feelings off when she left him. Now she had to ask herself, did she still love Nomed? She nibbled the last bit of flesh from the weasel's carcass, thinking. Then, tentatively, she opened up that part of herself that so rarely saw light. The answer was immediately made plain to her. Yes. She still loved him. Loved him with every fiber of her being. But when all was said and done, and Nomed was still the only male who could ever be her perfect other half, nothing had changed. Because they'd still fought, and she'd still walked, and she was still an Avenger. And Avengers were never meant to have a family. So Zakira carefully buried her emotions once more. It was better that way.

The white wolf loped along slowly, panting slightly despite her short run. She had a trick that was going to get her paining, stupid, retarded, big-headed, massive-egoed, bothersome, irritating, twat head of a brother to get his sorry, fat, lazy, depressed, furry-as-all-get-out brother up and moving once and for all and forget all about his irritating, stubborn, stuck-up, pretty, hormonal, incredibl pregnant mate. She put on a quick burst of speed to raise her heartbeat and increase her breathing, then froze just out of his hearing range and padded slowly into sight, drooping her head wearily and making her eyes flutter as though she had just run a marathon with no training instead of a quick little lope from the stream. She moaned softly, then flicked her ears up to see if he was moving about. At no response, she moaned a little louder as she continued staggering closer. Still nothing. She continued this process until she was nearly on top of their bush den. With an inward growl at his jerkishness, she plunged her head into the bushes . . . Only to find her brother was not only gone, but his scent was stale, meaning he had been gone probably since she left to seek water for him. With a startled yelp, she retracted her muzzle and spun around quickly, seeking for a remnant of him. She howled, long and proud, calling to him as she shoved her ears forward. She growned and darted off, all previous faked fatigue gone as she sought out something a little different than free food.
The black male padded along slowly, head hanging, eyes half shut. The thick chain dangled loosely, limply between his front paws. He thought, when Zakira left, he'd be able to shut down and feel nothing. But since he found Harek and wasn't allowing her to go, not that she would anyways, his heart had been open and aching for the one wolf he loved. Again, his protective nature had lost him something special and he hated himself for it. Of course Zakira could take care of herself, that wasn't his problem; but then, Guana and Fuco had been excellent fighters as well, practicing daily, yet with one swipe of a paw their "father" put them down in a pool of red. While he tried to hide it, to not let it show, his past scarred him brutally, and he would never let something so horrid happen to a wolf he loved. When she went off on her own, he feared the worst as always did, but the fact that she was pregnant and still acting the way she was was what threw him. Being an outstanding fighter while protecting your unborn pups and keeping your life out of the light was a lot to ask for, even for an Avenger like Zakira had been trained as. He doubted they had ever trained her for that and, henceforth, while being pregnant her safety was his responsibility. He frowned. Had been. Now, she hated him and wished they had never met. Lost in his thoughts once more, he continued to pad along silently, wondering where in the world he thought he could be loved by anyone besides his sister. (More character development; he's a sap, I know. ^.^' I was just thinking earlier "a past like his would scar any normal wolf; of course, he's not normal, but he was . . ." and, henceforth, began the idea that Nomed truly was scarred by his father and is all protective and crap because of it.)

Odeta's eyes opened slowly as she awakened from her deep slumber. She yawned, her teeth flashed as they reflected the sunlight. She stood slowly and shook out her coat in an exaggerated manner. The wolf hadn't had any excitement, no new things to explore, and she was starting to grow the tiniest of bits bored. The she' trotted away from the river that she had previously fell in, and shuffled through the underbrush. Her ears flicked to and fro lazily. Suddenly, she smelled the fresh blood of a hare. Her mouth watered, and she realized that she hadn't eaten in a long while. Maybe she might be able to weasel the dead rabbit from the owner of the kill. Odeta snorted and moved forward, coming upon the beige male, Barak. Her once gleaming eyes dulled and became cold. So it was he who had made the kill. With a mental shrug, the female decided that she might as well steal his kill. Now, wouldn't that just make him jolly. The female slunk forward and stopped a respectful distance away. Her hackles were raised a minuscule amount and she eyed the male nibbling on the dead animal. Shall she weasel it out of him by using her words, or should she just outright grab it from him? "So many decisions" She thought in mild mischievousness.

(Id remeber where Kali was...) Kali yawned and awoke, finding herself next to her mate. She stretched, but stayed laying. Her stomach was bulging slightly from the carrying of the pups. She started to clean her chest and shoulder, methodically licking the dirt out of her fur.

(Yep have been typing this out for half an hour on my Touch.)
Murtagh glanced toward Raiya with a smile. He nudged her shoulder gently and took a few dancing steps forward as his pink tongue drooped from a grinning grey mouth. He pranced around her in a circle, wanting to drop the thoght that he might have been wrong. He didn't like to be wrong- though he was willing to give up as long as it never came up in conversation again. Like ever. He paused to swipe at Raiya's ear, speaking now. "Well since neither of us want to be wrong..." He began with a smirk. "Lets just do something else. Like ex<i>plore!</i>" It was obvious that his sudden out-burst was threatening a return. Just then a nearly full grown male approached. Murtagh dipped his head in greeting, stepping to Raiya's side. "Hello, I'm Murtagh."
"I will." Tempest reassured her mother with a reassuring smile. She stepped closer to lick Callyn's ears, then flicked her tail at Comet and Cobalt. "You guys coming or what? I'll race you to the woodline!" She giggled and burst into a sprint, pouring on full speed the whole way there, her mouth shut, but a tiny, girly smirk planted across her lips, black eyes twinkling. She glanced backward to see if the boys were even coming and was surprised to see Comet practically clip her nose as he raced forward and Tempest realized that she had slowed her pace! She snarled silently to herself and pushed herself further. Comet cackled like a mad-man at Tempest's sudden wide eyed look. He continued forward and he noted that Tempest was making a noticable effort to pick of the pace. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a black paw shot out in front of Comet's front feet and before he knew it, he was tumbling across the earth in a heap of fluff. He continued to tumble for a while, but at a slower pace. Finay able to sit up and glare abead of him, he yelled in protest, "hey"!
"Yes, I came back..." Ana replied softly, leaning down to smooth the fur at the back of Joshua's neck. She snuggled the little puppy so closely, she felt as if she were going to decapitate Joshua or something. Finally ahe pulled away to glance at Sawyer who was snuggled up to Brigan. A sad smile flickered over her face, then her eyes and she looked back at Joshua. "Mama missed you, sweetheart." She murmered quietly. Sawyer tucked her head under Brigan's chin and closed her eyes, snuggling close to him. Then she pulled away and licked Brigan's fur happily. "Mama missed you so much." She said with a big grin. "All she talked about was you. She didn't tell me you were my daddy..." She paused for a moment, trying to figure out why exactly Ana hadn't told her. Then she continued to jabber on again, "but she kelt talking about you..to herself and then I just knew it was you!!" She said enthusiastically, proud of her long sentence. Just then, Ana turned toward Brigan and Sawyer again. "Lets go back to the de-our...den." She glanced toward Brigan shyly.

Barak paused just before taking a bite, ears pricked as he sensed more than heard a creature come up on him. He casually lifted his head and fixed his indigo eyes on the wolf off to the side, gazing into pumpkin eyes and realizing it was Odeta. He gazed at her calmly, almost boredly, then allowed his eyes to drift over her body, though there was no lust in the movement. Slowly, he sat up with the rabbit in his jaws and tossed it to her feet. His eyes sparked with amusement and he curled his tail up in a lazy circle as he stretched low. "You were going to take it anyways, I could see it in your eyes," he chuckled as he stood, not giving her a chance to chew him out. "I'd rather seem like the bigger wolf who gave up his prey to a pretty she-wolf than the wimp who lost his prey at a pair of pretty eyes." He chuckled lowly and waved his tail once before turning away. "Besides, you gave me a meal before, whether you intended or not. Its the least I can do." He dipped his head and began padding off, searching for his own prey once more. (See?? He's more than an egotistical @$$head. ^.^)

Callyn smiled, satisfied with her daughter’s assurances that they’d be careful and that Tempest would keep the boys in line. She watched them race off, then said a silent prayer to the Creator of the moon to keep her pups safe. All three of them.
Brigan smiled, listening to Sawyer chatter on. Joshua was a chatterbox, too. It was neat to see the differences and similarities between his daughters –between the one he’d been able to watch growing, and the one he’d missed out on. It’s not too late yet, he told himself. They’re young still. Plenty of time to get caught up on what was taken from us… That reminded him; he still wanted to hear the story of Ana and Sawyer’s disappearance. Ana had asked him to wait until they got back to the den. He glanced at her now, his dark eyes softening with love, still unable to believe she was really back. “Yes,” he agreed. “Let’s go home.” He nuzzled Sawyer again, then led the way away from the stream toward their den in the side of the hill, though all the while never leaving Ana’s side. Joshua bounced after her parents, glancing back as if to make sure Sawyer was following too. “This way, this way!” she cried, innocently excited to show her sister their home.
Nico awoke to bright sunlight streaming through the forest’s branches, which were losing more and more leaves every day. Skye was still nestled against his chest. Nico smiled sleepily and yawned, in no hurry to get up right away. Until his brain woke up and realized what time it must be for the sun to be so bright. “Rats!” he muttered. “That fox has had almost an entire morning’s head start on us. We’ll be hard-pressed to catch up with it now.” He glanced down at his sleeping mate and nudged her gently. “Skye, love,” he said. “Wake up. We overslept.” He grinned wryly.
Zakira spent the next few days alternately preparing for arrival of her puppies, which she felt would be coming very soon now, and exhausting her brain trying to come up with ways to solve her dilemma about being an Avenger mother. How on earth was she ever going to make it work? There was a reason an Avenger had never in the history of her pack ever been a parent. They weren’t raised to love or care or nurture; they were trained to maim and kill and follow orders. Zakira had been relying on Nomed to help temper her harsh nature more than she’d realized. The truth was, she’d finally found something she was afraid of: herself. She was afraid she would hurt, irreparably damage, her pups. It had even crossed her mind to intentionally miscarry them, before she had chance to ruin their young lives, but she abandoned that line of thinking almost immediately, hating herself for even considering it. So she avoided all contact with other wolves, retreating into complete seclusion, and continued to worry and prep.

Odeta snorted at Barak's talk and ate the rabbit without another thought. After she finished, she watched the male walk into the distance, her ears perked.
"Hello" Tratto spoke and sat, wrapping his tail neatly around his paws. "I do believe we have not met before. I am Tratto, and you both are...?"

The beige male trotted along slowly, ears flicking about casually as he sought out more food. He located another hare and pounced, cracking its spine with one fell swoop of his massive paw and tucking in. He licked his lips as he finished and looked about betore shaking his coat and stretching low. Now, if he could find a nice little makeshift den, he'd be the happiest wolf in the entire world. Waddling slightly now from a full belly, he padded out in search for a comforting spot to rest.
