Murtagh shrugged and lightly nipped at her nose. "Well, I guess so." He murmered softly, then turned around to glance out into the distance. "Anyway, the news is great, but like I said -I can't help but be nervous." He flicked his tail and stuck a black paw out quickly as a stray grasshopper(oddly in the fall) leapt by him, squishing it instantly against his thick foot. "C'mon, if you're not too tired, do you wanna go socialize?" He asked.

Raiya got up. "Alright." She walked past Murtagh and into the forest.

Murtagh watched her with amusment, not following her. His tail twitched. "Um, Raiya, dear don't you think we'll have a better chance of meeting someone in the clearing than in the forest?" He asked with a cocked grey head. "We might end up ruining someones hunt." He added with a soft chuckle.

"Yes and what if everyone is hunting and not in the clearing?" Raiya defended herself. "Besides they could be done with their hunt."

(Frankly, I'd rather deal with Nomed's! There's just something scarier about a sweet, happy wolf who becomes dark and menacing, than a wolf who's always dark and menacing ) Eventually, Zakira slept. It actually wasn’t hard. She’d already quit feeling; now she just needed to quit thinking too. And that, at least, was something that she’d always been good at. When she’d shut everything down, sleep came easily –if she couldn’t think and couldn’t feel and had no Alpha’s orders to mindlessly follow, there was nothing else to do there in the dark. She didn’t dream. She never dreamed. So she awoke the next morning feeling deeply rested, if a little unsure of her next move. The unborn puppies in her womb gave a little leap, then rolled and bumped. They were becoming more and more active by the day. It wouldn’t be much longer for them now. One step at a time, she reminded herself calmly. The puppies will come when they come. Nothing I can do about that. She slithered out of the hole in the base of the lightning-struck stump, and headed in the direction of the stream; far, far downstream from the place where her cave sat. She waded into the water, lapping as she went. When it was chest high, she dipped her shoulder and watched expressionlessly as the current washed Nomed’s blood out of her fur. Brigan stepped closer to his mate, licking her soothingly over and over as she cried into his fur. “Shh,” he murmured huskily, instantly taking on the role of comforter, protector, as he’d always done with Ana. “I’m here.” When she moved back, blinking away the remnants of her tears and asking if they could go back to the den before she told the story of her disappearance, he nodded. “Of course.” Now, finally, he turned to Sawyer, who was just looking away from Joshua and up at him. At her question, he felt a hint of sadness mar his overall joy upon being reunited with his mate. His daughter didn’t know him? “Don’t you remember me, Sawyer?” he asked, that sadness touching his smile. “I’m your daddy.” Sawyer? Joshua knew she’d heard that name somewhere before, knew she’d known these wolves from somewhere before. She looked up at Brigan just as he smiled at Sawyer and said, “I’m your daddy.” Daddy? But that would make… Suddenly, Joshua had a flashback. She was little, eyes barely opened all the way, and chewing on someone’s ear. Her sister’s. She’d had a sister. And if Sawyer was… She looked up at the emerald-eyed white she-wolf staring down at her. “Mama?”

(I love comparing Zakira and Nomed to Nico and Skye. They're such opposite ends of the spectrum.) Skye nodded sweetly, making a mental note to try flying sometime. The fact that Nico had tried flying didn't truthfully surprise her; they had tried ice skating - an activity no wolf in their right mind would try - why couldn't they fly as well? However for whatever reason the way he phrased the story made he smile: 'and was sitting in the den with Mom, and I was thinking about you...' Skye was exhausted. After staring at the stars until she could hardly keep her eyes open, she rolled over and pressed her forehead into Nico's chest, inhaling his familiar scent and feeling his strong presence. My, how they had grown up quickly, she thought. She let her eyes flicker closed, still seeing the white stars on the black sky when she closed her eyes. "Mm, I love you." She murmured, giving a small yawn and drifting halfway to sleep.
Cobalt groaned, only hearing half the speech, but understanding the main point of it. Hunting. She was bored. Wake up. Now. He slowly stood to his feet and shook his soft coat. "Yeah yeah yeah." He mumbled. "Just don't ever wake me up so early, huh?" He asked with a yawn. "Ready when you and Com are." He said, mildly pleased with his nickname for his brother.

(Yeah, I wouldn't want her made at me, that's for sure. ^.^' Its the whole "I know you're bad, so I'm wary" versus the "aren't you supposed to be a nice wolf?!" that strikes fear into the hearts of even the strongest warriors.) The white wolf slipped from the makeshift bush den to the forest. She sought out a pile of moss, finally finding some attached to a tree. She pulled the moss slowly, so as to try and keep it in one piece. A few minutes later, when she was content with her moss content, she laid it on the ground to roll it up, then continue on to a bit of water. Almost half an hour later, the white wolf still hadn't found anything watery. She had found a puddle, but it was so disgusting she gagged and raced off. Growling, she closed her eyes and allowed her nose to drift around, searching for the scents most commonly found around bodies of water. She took one hesitant step then another with her eyes still shut, then opened them to head slowly yet purposefully in the direction she figured the water was. When she finally reached it, she sighed with relief and placed the moss beside the water bed to lap at it for herself. It had been tiring, searching for this stupid water, and she was an idiot to not take advantage of it. Especially since she was pregnant. She smiled, then lifted her muzzle from the water as a strange, tangy taste hit her. Water shouldn't taste like that. She looked around for a dead animal, both in or out of the water, but saw nothing. She tasted it again, then her eyes widened as she recognized it. The metallic tang of blood. Her head snapped up, blue eyes darkening with worry as she looked about for whatever was bleeding into the stream. She bounded one direction, abandoning the moss, and searched the banks for anything that was injured. If it was pret, she'd put it out of its misery. If it was a wolf, she would help it when she found it. Ears shoved forward, she shoved her head through a mass of foliage and saw the brown wolf in the stream. She bounded over, one ear flat one shoved forward further, and quickly eyed the she-wolf over. Her belly told the tell-tale signs of pups but her demeanor was cold, frozen. Not motherly at all. Briefly, the white wolf worried about how the pups would be raised, but figured the father was probably more loving than her, obviously so to love a wolf like her, and let it slide. She took another step closer, still trying to find out if she was bleeding. "Are you alright??" she called finally. Her eyes were worried but soft, and her head was cocked gently. "I was downstream a bit and it had a faint taste of blood in it; I wanted to find out where it was coming from." She didn't take another step closer, unsure of how this she-wolf would react to an unknown wolf coming near her while she held pups, but instead leaned closer as she continued looking her over.

Zakira's ears twitched and she straightened, turning her head toward the sound of a large body crashing towards her through the undergrowth. No deer would be running toward her like that, so she assumed it was a wolf. For a brief moment, she almost expected to see Nomed, but banished that thought as a white she-wolf skidded into view. The she' said nothing, only looking her over anxiously, so Zakira said nothing either, only arching her brow in a cool inquiry. When the she-wolf finally asked if she was alright, explaining why she'd some running like that, Zakira glanced down at the pink-tinted water running away from her and understood suddenly. A strange look crossed her face and then was gone. She waded back to the bank and jumped out of the water, her heavy belly swaying gently. The she-wolf leaned closer and a warning glint entered Zakira's grey eyes as her invisible personal space boundaries were bordering on being breached. "I'm not injured," she said shortly. "It wasn't my blood."
Nico was still laying on his back, quiet now, a little half smile on his face as he relived the memories of that day, when Skye rolled over and pressed her forehead into his chest. He glanced down at her, surprised, then chuckled as she murmured sleepily that she loved him. He licked the top of her head. "I love you too, Skye," he whispered back, feeling her body relax as she drifted to sleep. "More than I could ever, ever tell you." Soon, he too slipped into slumber.

Harek regarded the wolf calmly though without much emotion, not intimidated in the least with her glare. She had to deal with her brother and father, after all; all her fear had been used up and overcome before she was even a year old. She sat back, however, reclining slightly to pull herself out of the wolf's space, and watched her in mild amusement. She didn't know the she-wolf well enough to know how she would react to a strange wolf too close to her and her unborn pups, and didn't want to either get an enemy only her first full day here nor have to fight for her life, and those of her own pups', against another mother. "Do you greet all wolves trying to be nice to you like that??" she asked with a slight grimace. "I doubt your pups would have many friends if you scare away all the parents." She glanced at the brown wolf's belly, then her own with a soft smile. "Though some aren't scared of you, and therefore would allow their pups to be around yours, if you would allow them." Her white plume tail thumped once as she redirected her bright blue gaze onto the gray one before her. "I'm new here, visiting to see an old old old friend of mine; he and I haven't seen each other in ages and have to catch up." She sighed, laying one ear flat. "Of course, I came a bit too late to see him at his happiest. That she-wolf who left him, she's lucky that he still loves her. Otherwise, she'd be a dead wolf walking." Her eyes darkened with anger and pain, then she glanced at the other wolf as another thought occurred to her. "Wait, if its not your blood, then whose was it??"

(Wow, way to put Zakira right on the spot, Harek XD)
Zakira snorted. Future friends for her puppies were the very least of her concerns right now. And this white she' would be better off rethinking her statement about not being scared. Every wolf in their right mind should be wary of Zakira on her best of days. On her bad days, they should be downright terrified. Today fell solidly in the second category. So she really wasn't in the mood to stand around conversing with pregnant, over-friendly she-wolves. She started to brush past her, ignoring the other female's light chatter, when something she said made Zakira freeze, every muscle in her body stiffening. How many other recent break-ups could this territory have? All those sappy, sentimental pack wolves never had rocky relationships; mostly because they were weak and had no backbones, but that was beside the point. The point was, Zakira was the only she-wolf who'd left her mate, which meant that the friend this she-wolf was visiting was Nomed. "Nobody's," she muttered, still in a state of paralysis. Who is this she-wolf???

(Eh, I never said anything about her being bright. X) ) Harek laughed nervously, both confused at her reaction to the description of her brother and the answer that it had been nobody's blood on her . . . How could blood anywhere be nobody's?? The thought of it wasn't natural in the slightest, and she decided not to think too much on it. Instead, she opted to try to understand the freezing of the she-wolf when she spoke about Nomed's crumbled relationship. Pushing her nervousness aside, she looked the she-wolf up and down. She didn't seem like she was having her pups right this very instant, so therefore it couldn't be that. It must've been her words, so she played it off as the she-wolf was horrified another wolf would be selfish enough to leave her mate alone and broken. "Yeah, when I found him, he was trying to revert back to his normal vicious self, but I stopped him," she said triumphantly, puffing out her chest slightly before letting it drop once more. "But the little witch tore into his shoulder, so he couldn't hop into trees to sleep like he was used to to sleep and was probably going to hurt himself more if he kept trying." She frowned, her eyes darkening. "You would think a real mate would notice thing like that." She rolled her eyes, growing angrier by the word. "I mean, seriously. All he wanted to do was protect her, to make sure she was in their den so that she didn't have their pups in the middle of nowhere or get hurt or both without him being around, and she gets all ornery and just tears into the tendons of his shoulder and leaves. Just, poof. Didn't even listen to his explanation, just leaves." Then she realized her hackles had raised and her eyes were heading for blackness, and forced herself to relax as she plastered a smile onto her face. "But enough about him. Where's your mate?? Have you been with him long?? I'm guessing so," she eyed her belly playfully. Then another thought struck her and she squeezed her eyes shut as she smacked herself with her tail. "Hello, introductions!" She looked suitably ashamed for a moment before brightening. "I'm Harek. And you are??"

(sorry for the wait. Computer has been really slow lately and I've been busy. Sorry!) Murtagh smirked as she defended herself, trotting over to lick her ears affectionetly. "Hey, honey. I know wha you mean, but you have to be reasonable..." He glanced toward the clearing with a tiny smile still planted across his face even though he tried and tried to stay serious. For his sake. To defend his argument well. But, instead he went all butt-kisser and tried to smoothe talk out of any possible arguments since Raiya clearly she was serious about this.
Tempest smiled. "It's not early. Remember? It's afternoon. You took all morning to wake up." She teased and jumped backward as Comet shot upright. He still was groggy from sleep, but his eyes were wide open and staring around like a maniac. He wasn't quite registring (sp) what was going on. Tempest sighed drmatically. "Comet, glad you could finally join us out of dream world. We're going hunting. You coming?" She asked, giving him the short version of which she had given Cobalt. Comet looked offended. "It's early!" He complained, his eyes focusing now. But it was obvious that he wasn't about to decline the offer. He slowly nodded and shook out his bed-raggled fur, then yawned. "Okay, ready whenever." He muttered. Tempest resisted the urge to roll her eyes, then turned around and padded outside Nico and Skye's(I found myself typing Zan and Icer, lol. I had to do a 'once-over' and found that.) den and looked around for her mother. Spotting her just outside, she dipped her head. "Hey, can me and the boys go hunting?" She asked, just as Comet padded out as well. He was already a larger wolf than Tempest -they had grown so much. (Fleh the last part might seem a little odd, but I had to put it somewhere since we have to get them aging a bit more.)

(You forgot Ana and Sawyer, Lucks ) Zakira whirled around, ready to tear into the too-talkative white female. How dare she think she knew anything about her and Nomed?!! She had no idea how many times Zakira and Nomed had argued because he was being overly protective, how many times Zakira had told her mate she didn’t need or appreciate his protectiveness. And dragging her into the den by her scruff wasn’t being protective; it was being controlling, condescending. I may have been the one who walked out, but Nomed was the one who said we were done. The thought would never had crossed her mind, if he hadn’t brought it up first. She stared at the other she-wolf, quivering with silent fury. The only thing that held her back was the fact that the white she’ appeared almost as angry as she was –but in Nomed’s defense. Who knew Nomed well enough to get so worked up over his personal life like that? The she-wolf seemed to catch herself, visibly forcing her hackles down and changing the subject. Which wasn’t really changed at all, from Zakira’s point of view. She didn’t plan on answering, but suddenly the she’ remembered they’d never introduced themselves. Harek?!! Upon hearing the white she’s name, Zakira was so stunned she forgot to shield her surprise. “You’re his sister!!” she gasped. Callyn raised her head with a smile as Tempest and the boys came trooping out of the den. Tempest led the way, looking eager about something. The boys followed, looking half asleep still. She hesitated at her daughter's request. She didn't want to let them go by themselves. She was having trouble wrapping her mind around how quickly they were growing up. But pups had to learn to do things for themselves at some point. Reluctantly, she nodded. "Yes. But be careful, okay, sweetie? You and Comet and Cobalt stay together." Her mismatched grey and blue eyes glanced around at all three of the pups, making sure they heard her.

Raiya glared at Murtagh as he tried to suck up to her. "Fine lets go to the clearing." She said resentfuly. But as she brushed by him in the direction of the clearing a mischevious smile lit up her face. "Then you'll see I'm right."

Harek glanced at her, head cocked, ears pricked in confusion. She eyed the she-wolf warily; she still didn't know her name. Hesitantly, she nodded. "You. . . know my brother??" she asked, eyes roving over her once more, slower this time. "How . . . He didn't tell me he knew a lot of she-wolves . . ." Her expression, however, remained unchanged as she gazed into the wolf's gray eyes. She thought carefully, trying to phrase her next words just right. "Oh, so you must've known his mate then?? He won't tell me who she is, or what she looks like, or anything." She huffed heavily, slouching slightly. "I just want to talk to her, to try to understand why she would think that leaving him was the way to go, especially with pups, but . . ." She shrugged her slight shoulders. While she had inherited some of her father's size, she inherited her mother's thin wispiness more. "I just want to know to try and figure out why she had to leave him like that. She-wolves don't generally take a mate and then walk out on them." Her eyes darkened slightly. "Its usually the males that do that." Shaking her head sharply, she forced the memories from her mind. Now was not the time to reminisce on her life; not that she figured the other she-wolf would care anyway. "I'm sorry, I must've missed it. What was your name, again??"

(Oops...) Ana's eyes lit up. She remembered her?! A bright, excited, happy smile lit up her entire face and she nodded quickly. "Yeah..." She trailed off, fighting back more tears. She wasn't the one for sad, or even just extremely happy times... and this was a mixture of both. She glanced toward Sawyer and Brigan and wondered if they were 'getting along'. Did Sawyer remember her daddy? She sighed and turned back to Joshua, licking her ears and nuzzling her. "Yes, sweetie." She murmered again. "...Did you miss me...?" She sat now, curling her tail around her feet, but hunching over so that she would be level with Joshua, or at least close.
Daddy? Sawyer repeated the word in her head and it slowly cocked to the side, her ears flopping. "Uh, no." She said seriously, studying his face for a moment, before shaking her head and letting a large grin spread her face. "Just kidding!" She said, joyful as always. "You are my daddy! And don't ever leave me again, okay??" She jumped and placed her paws n Brigan's chest fur to lean up and lick his nose multiple times.

(Oh my goodness! Sorry Maya!) Murtagh smiled nervously, not ready to be wrong if she was right. He knew the clearing was the obvious spot to look for a wolf but for all Murtagh knew, whole he was hunting eariler, Raiya could have seen no one in the clearing and knew the woods would be the best spot to look. He followed her now, tail down and ears low as well as he waited for her to be right. ...Or... he could be... Not far in the distance he spotted a stream where it looked like a family of wolves were...reuinting? Odd. He glanced around, deciding not to go over there in case there was an invasion of privacy. "...See anyone...?" He asked carefully, watching her.
