"How about we go down to the stream. I a rather thirsty." Traxx said and started walking again. She checked the wind to make sure they were headed in the right direction.

Barak nodded and followed her, still allowing her a shoulder to lean on if she so desired. He kept close and padded in step with her, ears flicking about for any danger. When they reached the stream, he bent his head and lapped at the water thirstily.

Sol-Leks made her way towards the stream with Brigan, Joshua and Kavik. She stopped ass he smelt a scent she was very familiar with. Turning to Kavik she stopped him, "Please wait here." she said and she trotted off. She came upon Traxx and another wolf. She stopped and just watched them, her hackles raised and her gaze locked on Traxx.
Traxx lapped the water as well and quickly ut her nose in the air, whining. "She is here. Somewhere." she said and sat down.

Kali chuckled as Shadow couched on his moose. "Oops." She said playfully and did a quick play bow before running off. She quickly came back, but disappeared just as quickly. She continued to do this trying to get shadow to play with her.

Shadow finally swallowed the moose whole and ran after Kali. He swiftly jumped over her and gently tagged her before running away, laughing.

Barak flicked his ears about calmly, sniffing the air. He turned his head slowly and saw the she-wolf staring at them. He noted her eye and her coloring, seeing it matched Traxx's description, and nudged her gently. "She's behind us," he muttered under his breath before turning towards her. He nodded to her respectfully. "You must b Sol-Leks. I am Barak, and Traxx here was the first wolf who bothered to become my friend."

Kali laughed wholeheartedly and bounded after him. She was going fast, and then faster and then... Kali yelped in surprise, not pain, as a tree root that was sticking out of the ground tripped her. She did a full somersault before landing with and audible 'umph' noise. She had landed in the leaves, and caused a few to fly into the air. Her tail wagged happily.

Shadow skidded to a halt and ran back to Kali, "Are you okay?" he asked as he checked her belly.

Sol-Leks sat and nodded to Barak, "Nice to meet you Barak and yes I am. I suppose Traxx has told you about me." she said.

Zakira’s ears flicked backwards in dismay. Of course. She should’ve known better than to hope for a happy story. Her entire life was one big tragedy, and so was his. Up until the point where they met each other, anyway. She supposed they would just have to make their own story, and be sure to give it a happy ending. “Yes,” she murmured in reply to Nomed’s assurances. “Sometimes…” She hesitated. “Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been if I hadn’t been raised an Avenger. A simple twist of fate and it might have been my brother Shard in my place and I in his. I try to imagine myself… Do you ever think like that, Nomed?”
Nico grinned, also remembering that fateful day. “Sure, sure,” he teased. “Go on, blame me if it makes you feel better. I think I shouldered my fair share of the responsibility in that- I ate your fish, didn’t I?” He laughed. Then, mildly indignant at having the ‘crazy’ accusation thrown back at him, he felt compelled to make Skye see the leaping fish. “No, no, it’s there!” he insisted. Still on his back, he wiggled and twisted and squirmed around in the small space until his head was laying where his hind feet used to be and the fish now looked right side up, bumping and jostling Skye in the process. “See now?” he asked, sounding pleased with himself for the commotion he’d caused just for a better view of the fish constellation. “Almost a mouse, once,” Joshua replied proudly to Sol-Leks’ question on if she’d caught anything yet. They’d reached the stream now, though, and the fawn-colored pup gave a yip of excitement and bounded down to the water, not noticing the grey she’s eyes fasten on a younger black and red wolf a few yards downstream. “Joshua,” Brigan called, his voice rising slightly, sounding anxious, as his daughter ran right up to the water’s edge without waiting for him. He picked up his pace and trotted down there with her, trying to rein in his uneasiness about the water in general for her sake. “Just…be careful, okay, baby girl?” “Okay, Daddy,” she replied obediently. Brigan glanced up as Sol-Leks left Kavik with him and trotted toward her older daughter Traxx, who was with a big beige male that Brigan didn’t recognize. Must be a newcomer, he thought. But he was more focused on the mother and daughter pair. As far as he knew, Sol-Leks and Traxx weren’t on speaking terms.

Barak didn't hesitate, didn't show nervousness; he simply nodded in response to her question. "Yes, she has," he replied. "I really don't feel like tackling another she-wolf in the sane day, so I'd greatly appreciate it if you cluld refrain from either saying harsh words or attacking my friend." He regarded the she-wolf before him calmly. "I just wish to know how a mother could do that to her daughter, and then never speak to her again. I think its the mother who should need to forgiveness, not the pup."
Nomed sighed gently and nuzzled Zakira softly. He would have laughed at how her opinions of his past than him. He nibbled her jaw gently. "We can and will make a better life for our pups," he replied firmly. "We know how not to be, so we clearly can be the best." It was his attempt at play. He thought about her next words. "I have, thinking I could've been Guana, but I try not to think about that."

Zakira smiled slightly at Nomed's attempt to lighten the mood, just to humor him, then let it fade away again. She wasn't in a smiling mood. It had come over her rather suddenly; she just felt very low, depressed. Reminiscing over their wretched puphoods certainly wasn't helping to improve her frame of mind, either. She nodded. Nomed was right not to think about it. They couldn't do anything about what could have been; it did no good to dwell on it. Why was she sitting here agonizing over the past anyway? Zakira stopped and thought about that for a minute, a frown spreading over her face. Realization slowly dawned on her and she uttered a low curse, feeling irritated. "This cursed pregnancy," she growled. "I don't feel myself! I can't even trust my emotions to actually be mine!" It was only after she said it that it occurred to her it was just the kind of comment that Nomed would find hilarious. She shot him a Don't you dare glare. She was seriously annoyed with the way her hormones were affecting her moods. They were just so unpredictable and she needed to feel like she could rely on herself, if no one else.

Nomed chomped down on his tongue to keep from laughing at her words when she glared at him. He just found her choice, and occasionally olden, words absolutely hilarious. This cursed pregnancy. How many she-wolves said that on a regular basis?? Most fawned over their bellies and others', all "oh, congratulations". Never once had he heard "oh, you poor baby" or "its a curse". That was part of the reason he adored his mate so much. Only part, however; the other part was the affection towards her past and reminiscing with his. That, too, gave her his highest honor. However, he didn't think his action through clearly enough, and yelped at the pain as his canines pierced the flesh on his tongue, feeling blood spurt from the holes. Whining, he crouched over and buried his face in his paws, wondering why he did things like this to himself. He also knew Zakira would most likely find it hilarious, and so would've muttered "laugh it up, fuzzball" had his tongue not burned.

Skye sighed, shaking her head and restraining herself from bursting out in laughter again. He did eat the fish, and she was glad for one thing that she didn’t have to eat it herself, and for another thing, it made her feel accomplished that someone would actually want to eat the fish. It made her wonder what he really thought of the meal. She smiled to herself. Her thoughts were interrupted as she was being elbowed and jabbed in the side, pushed, bumped into and jostled under the bush. She found it amazing the shrub was still standing when Nico finally settled down. Why he needed to completely reposition himself so that he could see an imaginary fish that wasn’t there was beyond her, and it was all she could do to keep from laughing. When he asked if she saw it now, that was too much. She started laughing. “Nico, just because you moved that doesn’t mean I see it,” she laughed. It reminded her of when she was a pup hiding from her brother. She simply closed her eyes, which meant that if the world was dark, he couldn’t see her, but of course it didn’t work that way. She wondered a silent, happy thought, debating with herself if Nico would ever fully grow up. She decided the answer to that was a no, but that was a good thing. She thought he was perfect. If he thought his changing position so it would look right in his eyes would make her see it, she would go along with it. “Oh, yeah, I kind of see it,” she lied realistically. She still mainly saw a tree, but to each their own, she thought. “If you plan on moved back to where you were, please make sure you don’t knock the bush down,” she teased.

Zakira raised her eyebrow at her mate as he bit his tongue, presumably in a valiant attempt to keep from laughing at her, and yelped in pain instead. She smirked. It served him right. She watched evenly as he crouched over and buried his muzzle in his paws, but as he continued to whimper, her impassive mask slipped. “Come now,” she said, her liltingly accented voice the perfect mix of exasperation, affection, and disdain. “You’re acting like a pup. Quit whining and learn your lesson already.”
Nico grinned as Skye burst out laughing at him. He really wasn’t as idiotic as he acted. He just didn’t care if he looked like an idiot, so it gave him room to act however he wanted. Most wolves had a shred of dignity that prevented them from letting loose like that. It was his turn to laugh when Skye decided she actually could see a fish after all. She was a terrible liar; he could see right through her. “Fibber!” he accused, then reached over to tug her tail. “I’m not moving back, you have to turn around this way now. So you can see the fish,” he added with another grin. “Don’t worry, the bush can handle it.”

Nomed growled at himself inwardly and stood. He was acting like a pup, but he wasn't sure about the lesson. It seemed multi-sided to him. He snorted, then stuck out his tongue to examine it as best he could. He frowned as he tried to move it into his line of vision to no avail, then glanced at Zakira instead. "Ist it badth??" he asked with his tongue still out, trying to decipher if he needed to drop it in the lake to cool it down or of it was mangled beyond repair.

Zakira regarded her mate, the picture he posed, standing there with his tongue hanging out, lisping at her to inspect it for him and tell him the damage. Her lips twitched; she relented. "You'll live," she said, smiling finally. "Come, we'll go back to the stream. The water will cool it and help keep the swelling down." She walked past him to exit the den, brushing her tail lightly along his side as she did, and led the way.

Skye flicked Nico's side with her tail after he tugged on it with a smile. "No, it's fine, I believe you. I'm sure there really is a fish up there," she laughed. However he was persistent. "All right, fine," she mumbled, fighting to get turned around. She shook her head, disbelieving that the bush could take it. It shook and tipped from side to side as she tried to move, and she was gridlocked half way around. She tried to shove herself off Nico with her hind paw to make more room for herself, but instead managed to push herself against the trunk - if it could be called that - of the bush. There was a "crack" sound, and the bush tipped over. She couldn't help herself from laughing, though she was blushing up a storm. "I'm not that fat, am I? I broke our bush." She whimpered in an obviously fake sad act.

Nico yelped and scrambled out from under the bush as it toppled over on top of him. He glared at it for making a liar out of him, then stalked around it, sniffing cautiously as if suspecting it of some despicable ulterior motive. "Naw, this isn't your fault, Skye," he told her, putting on a solemn, mysterious voice. "I'm convinced that this bush is evil. It's been plotting to fall on me all along; you just gave it the perfect excuse to carry out its vile plan."

Nomed smiled after her and followed her close, allowing his tongue to flop as he trotted down towards the stream. However, when the stream came in sight, he slid into an easy lope and leapt into the calm waters. He popped up, drenched, tongue still flopping out in a wolfy grin. "Come on in, the water's great," he teased, knowing she wouldn't get in the water if her life depended on it.

Kali chuckle dand stood up with ease. "Yes" she said before nipping him playfully on the shoulder and diving into their newly found den.
